Orders will be sent with tracked shipping. We do not provide untracked cheaper options. You will receive a tracking number along with your dispatch notification email. It is your responsibility to monitor the progress of your package. Any packages returned to us due to attempted delivery and subsequent non-collection notice from the delivery office will not be eligible for refund of postage. Such packages will be resent only if the customer is willing to pay the postage cost again. Any refunds for returned packages will be for the price of the items only, not the postage paid.
Pickguards sold by Avantguard are NOT original items. They are very closely based on existing models unless otherwise stated. Avantguard is in no way affiliated nor own any license with any guitar manufacturers unless otherwise stated. The use of any third-party brand and model names are for reference only, for the convenience of our customers in determining compatibility with our parts.
The pickguards sold on this site are carefully modeled upon official templates fitting the following guitar models: Fender Jazzmaster made in USA, Fender Jaguar made in Japan, Fender Mustang made in Japan. Each guitar is a unique assembly, so please be advised that as with all aftermarket pickguards, some areas may sometimes be slightly off, such as screw holes or bridge cavities, although this may only happen in very rare occasions. Any fitting issues are not covered under warranty and no refund will be given. In such rare cases, a little filing or driving the screw at an angle will be enough to make the pickguard match exactly. Any modification to the original Avantguard pickguard will be your responsibility to perform and will void the return policy.
Refunds / Cancellation
We're happy to cancel your order and refund your payment if your items have not yet shipped when we receive notification of such a request. We reserve the right to retain 5% of the original payment if you have paid via PayPal. PayPal changed their policy on refunds on 5th March 2020, and no longer cancel fees on payments when refunds are made. We cannot offer a refund or cancellation on orders for custom made pickguards if work has commenced on the product.
Credit / Debit Cards
For EU customers, we accept returns under 14 days from the date of purchase, provided that the pickguard hasn't been installed. This only applies to in-stock pickguards, and not custom orders, which are works of art commissionned upon the customer's specifications, and thus don't fall under the Hamon law of 31 July 2015.
Due to the nature of the product, no other returns will be accepted, unless it is clearly visible that the product suffers from a manufacturing defect. If this is the case, your request for a return can be considered within a period of 7 days following the reception of the product. Your request must be sent via email, with high quality pictures in the attachment. As stated on the product pages, each pickguard is processed with light relic. This includes light scratches, worn surface, small blemishes, which are intentionally made for aesthetic reasons. Such characteristics wonʼt be covered under the manufacture defect and return warranty.
In the case of items being incorrectly ordered by the customer, such as a made in Japan model ordered instead of a made in USA model, Avantguard wonʼt accept returns, so please be careful when ordering.
In the case of items being incorrectly supplied by Avantguard, we will supply the correct part upon receipt of the returned original item. Reasonable return postage costs will be refunded. Please request a return authorization by email before returning any items.
Custom made pickguards are deemed to be « built to the customer's exact specifications » so your item will be traced and manufactured with scrutiny by following exactly the tracing that you have provided, so they cannot be returned for misfitting reasons.
Pickguards sold by Avantguard are for personal use unless otherwise stated by us. They are not to be used in the manufacture of commercially available products without the written consent of Avantguard. We sometimes partner with luthiers and small manufacturers. Avantguard cannot guarantee successful mounting of your pickguard. Being a spare part, this relies upon the input and skill of the customer or the builder to carefully use a screwdriver with the correct screws and technique which is outside of the control of Avantguard. Tools and screws are not provided with any of our products.
Once your order has been posted and the tracking number provided to you, it is out of our hands. By being provided with tracking information you have as much access to the tracking system as we do. Please do not contact us asking for more information. Unless your tracking details show a problem, your package is still in the postage system and on its way. If you want further details, we suggest you try your local delivery company who is partnered with your national mailing service and private shipping companies.
